On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the recently appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Mahmud Adam Kambari, delivered an inauguration speech at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
In his address, Kambari outlined his comprehensive vision for the ministry, stressing the paramount importance of advancing environmental initiatives and championing sustainable development.
Kambari commended the achievements of the ministry and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead this esteemed institution.
He highlighted the importance of upholding the Ministerial Performance Bond for the Presidential Priorities and Deliverables (2023-2027) and ensuring alignment with the 6 Pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP25).
The new Permanent Secretary emphasized plans to engage with each department and agency within the ministry to gain an in-depth understanding of their operations, as well as to foster open communication, innovation, and collaboration.
Kambari expressed enthusiasm for the future, stating, “I am deeply honored to be part of such a talented and dedicated team. Together, we will achieve extraordinary success and usher in a new era of accomplishments for the Ministry of Environment.”
