Residents of Sabo Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have showered praises on Governor Uba Sani for transforming the notorious ‘Triangular Spot’ dump site to a breathtaking ‘Christmas Garden.’
Once a refuse dump site plagued by an unbearable stench and a haven for miscreants, the area has been revitalized into a picturesque garden adorned with dazzling lights and festive decorations.
The transformation, completed in December, has drawn widespread admiration, with many likening it to attractions in major global cities.
Families, youths, and individuals from diverse backgrounds have flocked to the site, now affectionately referred to as a “mini-Disney park,” to take photos and bask in the festive ambiance.
Governor Uba Sani’s administration has emphasized inclusivity and development since taking office in May 2023.
During a media parley on Boxing Day, Professor Bello Ayuba, the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, underscored the administration’s commitment to fostering unity and progress across Kaduna State.
He noted that Governor Sani has undertaken 68 road projects covering approximately 700 kilometers and has made efforts to transform rural communities through infrastructural development.
Professor Ayuba further highlighted the governor’s commitment to creating a peaceful and harmonious Kaduna, devoid of religious or tribal biases.
“Governor Uba Sani is dedicated to ensuring that his government serves all residents equally. The Christmas Garden is a testament to this inclusive approach,” Ayuba stated.
The Special Adviser on Stakeholders, Dr. Abdul Ishaq, echoed these sentiments at the recent launch of the “Kaduna Must Be Clean and Safe for the Betterment of the Citizens” initiative by a local NGO.
Dr. Ishaq reiterated that public health and environmental cleanliness are top priorities for the administration. He emphasized that the Christmas Garden project aligns with Governor Sani’s campaign promise to provide a clean and safe environment for all residents.
Security agencies have also lauded the transformation. Ahijo Peter, Acting Sector Coordinator of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS) in Chikun, noted that the conversion of the dump site into a vibrant garden has significantly reduced crime in the area.
“This spot used to be a hideout for miscreants. Now, with constant security presence, it has become a safe and welcoming place for everyone,” Peter explained.
Climate Africa Media Initiative Center (CAMIC)’s Growth Officer, Pius Alabi, was also gladdened by the conversion of the dump site to a garden, remarking tersely, “It will foster environmental conservation and enhance public health.”
In his Christmas message, Governor Uba Sani extended warm wishes to Christians in Kaduna State, emphasizing the importance of peace, unity, and compassion.
“Christmas is a season of hope, joy, and peace. Let us all embrace these values and work together to make Kaduna a beacon of harmony and progress,” the governor said.
He urged all residents to join in praying for peace, not only in Kaduna but across Nigeria and the world.
The Christmas Garden project has become a symbol of Governor Uba Sani’s dedication to improving the lives of all Kaduna residents.
As shop owners, families, and visitors continue to celebrate the transformation, it is evident that the governor’s inclusive and innovative leadership has left a lasting impact on the community. END
