The Jigawa Environmental Protection Agency (JISEPA) has successfully executed a comprehensive five-day operation in Gumel Local Government Area of the state, dedicated to waste clearance, material evacuation, and extensive fumigation.
Mr. Adamu Sabo, the acting Managing Director of JISEPA, made this announcement in Dutse on Tuesday, January 2024.
Sabo clarified that the operation is a crucial component of a broader waste removal plan aimed at enhancing cleanliness in communities across the state.
The initiative involved the meticulous fumigation of various establishments, including schools, healthcare facilities, and other public structures, to eradicate mosquitoes and other disease-carrying organisms.
The primary objective of this undertaking is to foster a clean and healthy living environment by elevating hygiene standards and controlling the spread of harmful organisms.
Sabo emphasized the importance of residents actively participating in maintaining cleanliness and adopting good sanitation practices.
Encouraging both the local community and the wider public, the managing director reiterated the agency’s commitment to promoting public hygiene through informational campaigns and practical demonstrations.
He affirmed that JISEPA will persist in prioritizing initiatives that contribute to the overall cleanliness and well-being of the state’s residents.
