In diversifying the national economy, the University of Ilorin has collaborated with National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Idofian, in Kwara State on agricultural knowledge and human capacity development.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, revealed this when he led some members of the university’s management team on a visit to the Acting Executive Director of NCAM, Dr Abdulgafar Kamaldeen, on Tuesday in Kwara.
He said that the two institutions needed to work together to deepen knowledge and human capacity development, particularly in the field of agriculture and agricultural engineering, adding that collaboration and cooperation between the two institutions.
He added that the university was very proud to have Kamaldeen, an alumnus of Unilorin as the Chief Executive of such an important outfit, which was tasked with food sufficiency and security for the nation.
Egbewole assured the executive director that a proper arrangement would be made for him to pay NCAM a working visit in no distant future.
Welcoming the vice-chancellor to his office, Kamaldeen said that he felt most honored and highly motivated to play host to the chief executive of his alma mater.
The NCAM boss assured Egbewole of the readiness of his establishment to seize the privilege of its location and hands of friendship extended to his centre.
He said, “NCAM would effectively collaborate with the university towards achieving the corporate objectives of the two institutions.”
