IDAN commemorates 2022 World Interior Day

The President of Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN), Jennifer Chukwujekwe has applauded the board of trustees, past president and national executive council for their contribution to the growth of interior design in Nigeria, as they join the world to commemorate World Interior Day. She made the applaud through the IDAN Vice President, Ms Freda Anegbe, at commemoration ceremony on Saturday in Abuja.

With the theme: ‘Pride of the Past an Incentive for the Future”, the ceremony captured the moment of reflection on how far the industry has excelled in Nigeria, Africa and the entire world. 
 
In her welcome address, Kuceli Ross-Adetunji the chairman of IDAN FCT chapter, said collaboration and partnership between designers, both the government and private sector is an assurance that will make designers bloom.
 
Speaking on, she added “I looked up and I see our pride of the past in relationships that we’ve built over the years by members of IDAN and the design communities”.
 
Also, in a goodwill message, Amb. Maryam Katagum, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, who was represented by Mrs. Popoola Abimbola, commended the members of the Association of Interior Design industry in Nigeria.
 
She stated that the vision of the federal ministry of industry, trade and investment is to promote economic growth, create jobs and generate wealth which will evolve enabling environment for industry, trade and investment in Nigeria, implement the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP), and promote the integration of Nigeria businesses into the regional and global value chain.

Furthermore, the Minister of information and culture Alh. Lai Mahammed, represented by  Mrs. Akudo-Nwosu Ugochi, the Deputy Director overseeing entertainment and creative service department, congratulated the interior designers association of Nigeria for their influential pace in promoting Nigeria cultures, the growth and development of creative industry for the professionalism for their support of the socioeconomic activities in the environment.
 
In the closing remarks, Ms Freda Anegbe, Vice President of IDAN, Who called for partnership from the various sectors of government, private sectors, corporate bodies and individuals, to please support an industry that has impacted lives and created more jobs in Nigeria. She also commended everyone for honouring the invites.
