Promoter Eddie Hearn, has suggested that Anthony Joshua could be entering the final year of his boxing career, following a challenging 2024. In an interview with The Times, Hearn acknowledged that while Joshua had been eyeing a rematch with Daniel Dubois—after losing to him earlier this year—injuries could delay the bout until later in 2025.
Hearn, who has been a key figure in Joshua’s career, also hinted that the 2025 Qatar Open Golf Championship may mark Joshua’s final fight, with speculation surrounding a potential showdown against Tyson Fury. Despite Joshua’s continued desire for a rematch with Dubois, Hearn emphasized the need for Joshua to be “physically and mentally 100% ready” for any future fights, especially after his recent setbacks.
Joshua, who has accumulated significant earnings in his career, including an estimated £175m, had previously denied retirement after his defeat to Dubois, asserting he still had more to prove in the ring.
