Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi has been named as the new first class Emir of Dutse, with effect from Sunday, February 5.
This followed the approval of the Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, at the weekend.
Alhaji Hammed had received the unanimous vote of the seven-man Council of Dutse Emirate Kingmakers, out of the three contenders for the exalted royal throne of Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State.
NatureNews.Africa reports that based on the standard procedure, the name of the new Emir of Dutse and other contestants was first forwarded for ratification of the State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, under the chairmanship of the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najeeb Suleiman Adamu.
A statement from the Emirate Council also says the Council of Chiefs sent the name of Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sanusi and the other two contestants for consideration and final selection by the state government.
In his goodwill message to Emir Hameem, Governor Badaru congratulated the new monarch and prayed that Allah would grant him guidance, wisdom, and protection in the cause of his leadership.
Also the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of NatureNews, Alhaji Aliu Akoshile, felicitated with the new Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi.
He expressed the hope that the reign of the new Emir would be peaceful and filled with remarkable accomplishments for the Emirate and the state.
Until his appointment as Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi held the title of Dan’iyan Dutse.
The new Emir is the Managing Director of HMS Energy Limited. Before then, he was the Head of Northern Region for SMD Consulting from 2011 to 2016.
Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi was Head of Business Development at Bilyak Consulting from 2007 to 2011.
Born in 1979, the new Emir holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Monash University (MUFY) Sunway College campus, Malaysia.
