Governor Makinde optimistic about swift completion of Ibadan Dry Port

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed his belief that the Ibadan Dry Port Project could be operational sooner than anticipated, thanks to the understanding of President Bola Tinubu’s administration regarding the advantages of developing the economic value chain.

The governor emphasized that his administration would collaborate more closely with the Federal Government, assuring that the recent change in federal leadership would not have a negative impact on the project.

Governor Makinde made these remarks during his weekend inspection of various ongoing projects, including the Ibadan Inland Dry Port, the College of Agriculture and Renewable Energy in Iseyin, a campus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomoso, the Engr. Lere Adigun Housing Estate in Basorun, Ibadan, and the Ibadan Circular Road.

He acknowledged the progress made thus far but acknowledged that there is still much work to be done.

The governor also highlighted the infrastructure development and other key initiatives his administration has undertaken, which have started to attract investors.

He encouraged the youth to seize the opportunities available rather than seeking nonexistent greener pastures abroad.

Governor Makinde’s positive outlook regarding the Ibadan Inland Dry Port project was reiterated in response to a question about the impact of the change in federal government, as he reassured the state’s residents that the project would be completed sooner than expected, citing increased cooperation with the new federal administration’s understanding of the economic value chain.
