Bauchi State government has reiterated its commitment to overseeing the activities of all mining companies operating within the state.
The primary objective is to ensure strict compliance with established guidelines and regulations while enhancing revenue generation.
During an official visit to mining sites across various local governments in the state, Muhammad Maiwada Bello, the Commissioner of Natural Resources, reaffirmed the government’s determination to implement stringent measures against illegal mining activities, focusing on combating unauthorized operations and improving revenue streams through innovative approaches.
Commissioner Bello emphasized the necessity for every mining company to closely collaborate with the ministry, adhere to provided protocols, and operate within the framework of Community Development Agreements (CDAs) for the mutual benefit of host communities and the state as a whole.
Furthermore, Commissioner Bello highlighted the importance of miners possessing comprehensive knowledge of their mining licenses spanning federal, state, and local government levels to ensure seamless operations.
During the visit, he engaged with community leaders and urged them to forge strong partnerships with local government chairpersons to address challenges arising from mining activities effectively.
The Bauchi State Government is committed to ensuring that mining companies operating within its jurisdiction are held accountable and operate within the confines of the law.
