Authorities fear that Japan’s main Island of Kyushu may face flooding as the area has been hit by heavy rains.
Japan’s Meteorological Agency on Thursday warned that more heavy rain was being expected in the next few days, local authorities said.

Tens of thousands of residents were faced with potential landslides and urged them to get to safe ground.
The meteorological agency also called on residents of other areas in the west, east and north-east of Japan to take greater care because of the danger of landslides and flooding.
Due to global warming, Japan was increasingly being hit by heavy rains.
As a result, landslides were increasingly common.
