The largest plank market in Lagos State, Oko-Baba Sawmill, located in Ebute Metta is currently on fire.
The wildfire has ignited and is currently destroying Ebute Metta plank market and residential houses around the area.
In a viral video shared all over Social Media , the fire has continued to spread for hours destroying several properties including a church, equipment used for plank making and properties owned by residents and workers in the area.
The incident has incited fright amongst residents who feared that the men of the Fire Service may not be able to access the area which is close to a large deposit of water.
While the cause of the fire remains unknown, some residents were seen trying to save their properties.
The incident has caused gridlock around the Third Mainland Bridge as the Lagos State management agency is seen trying to control the gridlock already stretching.
