Finance Minister, Ahmed, to deliver keynote address as NatureNews clocks 2

As Africa`s first digital newspaper on environment, NatureNews, rolls out drums to celebrate its second year of birth, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, is set to deliver the keynote address at the anniversary lecture.

The anniversary lecture which is titled “Climate Financing for Sustainable Environment in Nigeria” will hold on Thursday 19 January, 2023 at the Shehu Musa Yar`Adua Centre, Abuja.

According to a statement by the Managing Director, Mr. Rasheed Yusuff, the minister has accepted to give the keynote address in the event that will attract the crème de la crème of both the public and private sectors nationally and internationally.

The NatureNews second anniversary lecture, the statement added, would be chaired by HRH Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Sanusi while the legal luminary and former Attorney-General of the Federation and Justice Minister, Chief Kanu Agabi SAN, is the special guest of honour.

The event according to Yusuff will also feature the presentation of HEAD Awards to deserving people of worth in the industries.

Ahmed, an accountant, has been serving as Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning since 2019. At the time, President Muhammadu Buhari brought the two ministries under her as one, making her the de facto Minister of Economy.

An accountant by profession with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from ABU Zaria and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Ahmed was appointed as Finance Minister upon the resignation of the previous Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun on 14 September 2018. In 2015, she was appointed as the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning by President Buhari.
