The Federal Government is set to support rural women with cash grant which, it says, is to empower 100 million rural women as part of its social inclusion and poverty reduction scheme.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, via the ministry’s verified Twitter handle @FMHDSD on Friday.
The ministry launched the programme in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Friday.
Speaking at the inauguration, the minister said, “I am optimistic that, with the support and cooperation of Your Excellency and other stakeholders present here, we can lift 100 million out of poverty by 2030 as envisioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.”
She noted that the Special Cash Grant for Rural Women programme was introduced in 2020 by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development as part of the President, Major-General
Muhammadu Buhari (retd) regime’s social inclusion and poverty reduction agenda.
Meanwhile, a Press release signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Bashir Nura Alkali, and posted to its verified Facebook page, stated, “The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, which is charged with the responsibility of implementing the National Social Investment Programs, wishes to inform the general public, especially those that applied for the N-power programme, that the ministry has initiated the next stage of the enrolment process for the Batch-C applicants.
“It is in view of the aforementioned that the ministry is requesting all those that have applied for the N-POWER programme to:
Check their respective email addresses provided at the point of application for information on how to log in to the portal.
Applicants may also visit www.nasims.gov.ng to log into the applicant portal and update their personal information and records.
