The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has donated essential farm inputs to irrigation farmers in Jigawa State to boost irrigation farming and support dry-season crop production, especially wheat.
The donation of the inputs, which included 10,000 water pumps and 10,000 liters of herbicides, was made during the Green Field Day event, organized by the Flour Milling Association of Nigeria (FMAN) in collaboration with the Jigawa state government.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, commended Jigawa’s efforts at strengthening the state’s agricultural sector, enhance food production, and combat poverty.
He also praised the farmers for their resilience and dedication. Kyari highlighted that the donation aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
