The Egyptian pavilion has won the best participation award in the exhibition on the first day of the International Tourism Exhibition.
UITM was held in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, from 5 to 6 October.
Ahmed Youssef, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism promotion Affairs, inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition, in the presence of Ayman El-Gammal, Egypt’s ambassador to Ukraine.
The Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism promotion Affairs pointed to the importance of Egypt`s participation in this exhibition, especially with the approaching start of the winter tourist season, stressing that the Ukrainian market is one of the most important tourist markets exporting tourism to Egypt, whose tourists were among the first tourists to come to Egypt since the resumption of the tourist movement in July 2020.
He also stressed the continuation of the efforts made by the Egyptian government and the facilities it provides to support the tourism sector, stressing the readiness of the Egyptian tourist destination to receive tourists from different countries of the world to enjoy its diverse and attractive tourism components.
He pointed out that this exhibition is a good opportunity to hold a number of professional meetings to document aspects of joint cooperation between Egyptian and Ukrainian officials in the field of tourism and travel with tour operators, tourism chambers and major tourism companies operating in the Ukrainian market.
Youssef also participated in the discussion session of decision-makers and representatives of tourism bodies participating in the exhibition, which was held on the sidelines of the exhibition, where he delivered a speech during which he spoke about the precautionary measures taken by Egypt to confront the Coronavirus, and health safety controls that are applied in hotel and tourist facilities, museums and Archaeological sites, airports, and various tourist activities to ensure the health and safety of tourists during their visit to Egypt, in addition to the health and safety of workers in the sector and citizens.
He also reviewed the latest developments in the vaccination of workers in the tourism sector with vaccines against the Coronavirus.
