Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, has ordered an increase in the supply of essential food commodities ahead of Ramadan, aiming to offer citizens high-quality goods at lower prices.

Farouk directed the ministry to distribute additional quantities of meat fresh, chilled, and frozen poultry, rice, cooking oils, legumes, eggs, and seasonal Ramadan items through ministry-affiliated outlets at the Agricultural Research Center and agricultural directorates nationwide.

He also announced the deployment of mobile outlets to reach remote and densely populated areas, as well as public squares, offering discounts of up to 25% compared with prevailing market rates.

The measures form part of the “From Farm to Consumer” policy, designed to reduce intermediaries in the supply chain, stabilize prices, and ease the cost of living during the holy month.
