Egyptian Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, announced the completion of the construction and installation of the first instantaneous monitoring station to monitor environmental noise levels in New Beni Suef city.

This comes with the aim of evaluating the current situation of environmental noise levels in Beni Suef Governorate, and benefiting from these results in preparing solutions and strategic plans to reduce noise.

By the new station being built, the number of stations in the national network to monitor noise levels in Egypt amount to 37 stations distributed across the governorates.

Egypt Today reports that the ministry is reviewing and amending the standards and maximum limits for noise levels contained in the Executive Regulations of the Environmental Law, by evaluating and monitoring noise levels in various regions and providing ministries and concerned authorities with monitoring results.

Authorities will benefit from the noise levels detected, in order to be considered when establishing any national projects, such as highways, bridges, hospitals, schools and residential areas, in addition to examining complaints about noise received from the hotline to receive complaints and take the necessary measures against them.
