Earth Day: NGO tasks Nigerians on Earth’s sustainability

The African Clean-up Initiative (ACI) on Thursday called on Nigerians to develop healthy and  personal social responsibility for the earth.

Mr Alexander Akhigbe, the CEO of ACI, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday that all hands should be on deck to restore the earth to its former glory.

He spoke on the occasion of  Global Earth Day, commemorated every April 22,  to reflect on what could be done to better the earth, with the theme for 2021 as: “Restore Our Earth”.

“This year’s Earth Day’ theme is focused on restoring our earth.

“My message is simple, develop a healthy personal social responsibility that will contribute positively to restoring our earth,” Akhigbe said.

According to him, no positive action is too little in restoring the earth.

He said that deliberate efforts should be made for the sustainability of the earth.

“ Plant a tree like we did at Lufasi park today.

“Talk to someone about the environment develop a good waste management culture and be an environmental steward for Mother Earth,” Akhigbe said.'(NAN)
