Mr. JV Gungune, the former Director of Dangote Cement Plant in Obajana, Kogi State, bids farewell as he passes on the mantle to Mr. Azad Nawabuddin, the newly appointed director tasked with continuing the legacy of his predecessor.
During the farewell ceremony, Ademola Adeyemi, General Manager of Special Duties and Community Relations at the Plant, lauded Gungune’s efforts in fostering a strong relationship between the company and local communities.
Gungune, described as a mentor by many, leaves behind a legacy of dedication and exceptional leadership.
Reflecting on Gungune’s departure, colleagues like Mr. Abubakar Idoko acknowledged his professionalism and the invaluable lessons learned under his guidance.
Community leaders, including HRH Oba (Dr.) Fredrick D. Balogun and Dr. (Engr) Idowu Isenibi, also celebrated Gungune’s contributions.
Mr. Azad Nawabuddin, equipped with extensive experience in the cement industry and a background in chemical engineering, assumes the role of Director at Dangote Cement Plant, Obajana.
Previously, Nawabuddin served as the plant director at Dangote Cement Ibese Plant since 2019.
Nawabuddin is poised to carry forward Gungune’s legacy of excellence, leadership, and community engagement, ensuring the continued success and positive impact of Dangote Cement Plant in Obajana.
This transition marks a new chapter for the plant, with Nawabuddin prepared to uphold and build upon the foundations laid by his esteemed predecessor, Mr. JV Gungune.
