The Kogi State Government and Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana Plant are fortifying their nexus in the interest of the people of the state and Nigeria.
Both parties said they were nurturing and strengthening existing communication channels through concerted efforts and mutual exchanges.
Speaking during a familiarization visit to the Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana Plant, Kogi State’s Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mohammed M. Shuaibu, said his visit to the Plant was to explore areas of mutual cooperation and collaboration under the new government led by Alhaji Usman Ododo.
He commended the company for job creation, tax remittances and philanthropic activities in Kogi State.
In his address, the Plant Director, Engr Azad Nawabuddin, thanked the Commissioner for the visit, despite his busy schedule.
The Plant Director, who congratulated and commended the new government in the State, said businesses can only thrive if government provides the enabling environment, and most importantly security and infrastructure.
According to Engr Nawabuddin, employment opportunities created by the company were only meant to support government efforts.
Speaking earlier, Head, Human Assets Management, Mr. Adeniyi Azeez said the visit of the Commissioner has shown that the government and the company were working towards the same goal.
He said most of the employees of the Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana Plant, are from Kogi State.
Mr. Azeez said the company has contributed enormously to the economic development of Kogi State through tax remittances and Corporate Social Responsibility schemes for host communities.
