CWP Europe has commissioned its 174-megawatt direct current Studina solar power project in Romania, with the facility now reaching commercial operation.
The company said the plant is expected to generate around 245,000 megawatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to supply power to approximately 122,500 households and cut carbon dioxide emissions by about 220,500 tonnes each year.
CWP Europe also confirmed that it has secured a building permit for a co-located battery energy storage system, with construction planned as the next phase of development.
The Studina project was delivered in partnership with contractors Siemens Energy, Solarpro and Eximprod, and forms part of CWP Europe’s broader strategy to accelerate the energy transition across south-east Europe.
Alex Sekulovic, chief financial and operating officer at CWP Europe, said the company’s construction team played a central role in delivering the project, highlighting strong coordination and execution during challenging construction stages.
He added that close collaboration with EPC partners ensured high quality standards, timely completion and full compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements, with no accidents recorded.
Viktor Garbev, executive vice president at CWP Europe, said the project reflects the company’s ability to secure sites, optimise permitting and deliver large-scale renewable assets in complex technical and regulatory environments.
