Local Government in the Indian capital on Friday said it would not allow its unvaccinated employees to attend offices from October 16.
The order was been issued by Delhi’s government Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
“All employees working under the government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, including frontline workers, healthcare workers as well as teachers and other staff working in schools and colleges should get vaccinated.
“They should at least get the first dose by Oct.15, as per prevailing guidelines and protocols prescribed for vaccination by the federal ministry of health,” the government ordered.
According to the government, all unvaccinated Delhi government employees will be regarded as they are “on leave” until they get vaccinated.
The DDMA has decided to ensure 100 per cent vaccination of government employees against COVID-19.
During the past 24 hours, 44 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi.
At present, India’s active caseload stands at 2,40,221, which is the lowest in 205 days.
