President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate reopening of four land borders.
The Presidency announced this on Wednesday via a tweet, @NGRPresident, “President Buhari has directed the immediate opening of four land borders: Seme, Illela, Maigatari, and Mfun.”
NatureNews reports that to tackle illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into Nigeria from neighbouring West African countries, the federal government ordered closure of land borders in August 2019.
