The National Palm Produce Association of Nigeria (NPPAN) is calling for federal and state government support for its “One Family 20 Palm Trees” initiative.
The project aims to empower every household across the country to plant 20 palm trees.
NPPAN’s National President, Amb. Alphonsus Inyang, emphasized the need for government assistance in providing seedlings and necessary inputs for rural households.
Speaking in Abuja recently, he explained that the initiative would enable households to plant, harvest, and market palm trees, potentially reducing production costs by 70 percent.
Inyang added that this initiative would boost domestic production, increase exports, and significantly cut the cost of palm oil importation.
