Airspace Management Pensioners Association of Nigeria (AMPAN), an affiliate of the Federal Parastatals and Private Sector Pensioners Association of Nigeria (FEPPAN), has called for the abolishment of (PENCOM)for causing a series of hardship to government retirees in the country
Speaking during in an interview with journalists in Lagos State, President of (AMPAN), Mr Kester Omotayo, explained that the (PENCOM)has increased the suffering of senior citizens in the country that have dedicated their lives to work for the country
Omotayo said their benefits have been kept in the hands of individuals who will decide what the pensioners will be earning adding that they were trading with pensioners money and pay them a token as a fractional part of the money they earn from their investment, daily times reports
He said for 18 years the destiny of pensioners will be in the hand of pensioners, and that would have been better for the government to continue with the accrued right benefit of the pensioners in the country if well managed.
While commending on (NAMA ), Omotayo expressed the hope that the shortfall in pension increase since 2003 will be will soon be resolved as committees were working effortlessly to ensure resolutions with the (NAMA) management.
