ALEXANDRITE

 Alexandrite also known as Chrysoberyl is one of the world’s rarest gemstones. It varies in colour which is dependent on the light. Alexandrite has two mineral compositions which are Chromium and Beryllium and should  be present to form the gemstone “Chrysoberyl”.

Alexandra gemstone was discovered in the year 1830 in Russia and was named in 1834 after the Emperor of Russia Alexandra 11 Romanov-Alexandrite. 

Alexandrite is known for its ability to change colours. It’s basic colours are green during the day and red when placed under an electric light bulb. It’s colours alter when exposed to other sources of light. 

Alexandrite is valued by it’s colour intensity. The highest value has a deeper and more intense colour. Alexandrite gemstone are used in making beautiful Jewelries like bracelet, pendents, earrings which soothes the skin.

Alexandrite in the homes and offices  helps in making right decisions and it brings more fortune to the environment. Alexandrite is also a stone of luck and used for it’s healing properties.

Alexandrite can be mined in Nasarawa State and few other states in Nigeria
