The senator for Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, has stated that agriculture is the most practical way to reduce poverty in the country.
Speaking on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at a training session for young people in his senatorial district organized in association with the Taipei Trade Office, Nigeria, Fadahunsi stressed that the only practical way to address the country’s current economic problems is through agriculture.
He claimed that previous attempts to boost the economy had not yielded the expected outcomes.
He stated that the goal of their attention and investments in young people in the agricultural field is to lay a long-term foundation for the future economy rather than to produce immediate results.
” So, if nothing else, I advise Nigerians to get involved in agriculture so that we can feed our families and ourselves.”
“Above all, I urge young people to acquire the foundational knowledge of agriculture in order to become self-sufficient.
“Our nation can no longer get wealthy solely through oil. Regardless of our social standing, we all need to support agriculture. It will at minimum put food on the table, he continued.
