In a recent address delivered in Abuja, while acknowledging the pivotal role of the private sector in amplifying water and sanitation infrastructure across Nigeria, Dr. Igwe advocated for the formulation of robust policies and legal frameworks conducive to fostering private sector investments efficiently.
OPSWASH stands at the forefront of concerted efforts alongside governmental bodies and diverse stakeholders, striving to realize the objectives outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 6, which centers on ensuring universal access to clean water and sanitation.
With an unwavering commitment to empowering communities, OPSWASH is actively engaged in facilitating community-driven initiatives aimed at addressing the pressing needs of marginalized populations, cognizant of the enduring challenges posed by chronic water scarcity and unreliable power provision.
Dr. Igwe accentuated the indispensability of uninterrupted power supply for the seamless operation of water schemes, emphasizing the imperative for proactive measures by state and local authorities to guarantee sustained access to water resources for all citizens.
Through the cultivation of strategic alliances and the deployment of innovative solutions, OPSWASH endeavors to catalyze efficiency, sustainability, and ingenuity within the water sector, thereby fostering positive outcomes for communities across the nation.
