Hon. Raheem Adedoyin – Chairman
Raheem Adedoyin is a highly respected journalist and media executive with an unassailable track record of leadership and achievement in the media industry. His extensive experience and professional network make him a prominent figure in Nigerian and international journalism circles.
He represents Nigeria and Africa on the Executive Board of International Press Institute (IPI), the renowned global journalism body, which he joined in 1995 and served as Secretary of IPI, Nigeria Executive Committee, for a record 12 years.
A distinguished fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and fellow of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mr. Adedoyin was the pioneer editor of Third Eye newspaper and later Managing Director/Editor-in-chief of The Herald. He had earlier on spent many years of his journalism career with The Guardian, reputed as the flagship of Nigerian newspapers, where he rose to the enviable position of acting editor of the weekend title.
Raheem Adedoyin, who read Mass Communication at the University of Lagos and also attended the Lagos State University, Ojo, is the chairman of the Editorial Board of The Herald newspaper.
He has won many journalism awards. These include: NOLCHEM, now known as National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company Plc, Prize for Second Best features story writing by students of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, 1982; First prize for excellence in Transport Reporting, General Jeremiah Useni’s award, 1991; Leadership Award for Media Excellence by Correspondents Chapel of Osun State (NUJ), 1997
Mr. Adedoyin served as Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture in Kwara State as well as Senior Special Adviser (External Communication) to the Executive Governor of Kwara State
Aliu Akoshile – Founder/Publisher
Aliu Akoshile is a passionate environmental journalist, development communication strategist, and corporate thought leader with a wealth of experience spanning integrated mass communication, banking, and corporate re-engineering.
A serial entrepreneur, Akoshile is the executive chairman of Almak Media Limited as well as the publisher and editor-in-chief of NatureNews. He also sits on the Boards of Carbonext Inc., Tx, and Lepton Multiconcepts Limited. He is the Executive Director of Climate Africa Media Initiative and Centre (CAMIC), a think-tank for environmental policy, governance advocacy, and climate solutions.
He had a stint as the group managing director and editor-in-chief of Nigeria’s oldest surviving newspaper, the iconic Daily Times, which he successfully repositioned in 2019. Before then, he was in charge of Business and Strategy at the Daily Trust, one of Nigeria’s most credible independent newspapers.
Aliu Akoshile was an alternate director of ABC Transport Plc and a pioneer manager of the recapitalised NUB International Bank, which is one of the past legacy institutions of the post consolidated FCMB Plc.
An accomplished international volunteer, he served as secretary to the jury for African of the Year, a pan-African award project, under the chairmanship of H.E., Dr. Salim Ahmed Salim, former Prime Minister of Tanzania, and later under H.E., Hon. Festus Mogae, former President of Botswana.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in international relations & and strategic studies from the University of Jos. He has attended executive programmes at the University of Oxford, UK, and Howard University School of Business, Washington DC. He is pursuing a PhD in peace and conflict resolution with research interest in climate change-induced conflicts.
A Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), Akoshile is also a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), International Press Institute (IPI), and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). He is a registered practitioner of advertising (arpa) certified by the Advertising Registration Council of Nigeria, ARCON
Akoshile is a golf enthusiast and a member of IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
Rasheed Yusuf – Managing Director.
Rasheed Yusuf is a seasoned media administrator, marketing specialist, and financial economist. He was promoted as Executive Director at Leadership Media Group, publishers of LEADERSHIP newspapers, following his consistent achievement of performance targets as Chief Marketing Officer of the company.
Earlier on in his career trajectory, he joined Media Trust Limited, publishers of DAILY TRUST newspapers, in 2007 and rose through the ranks to head the Marketing and Distribution units with oversights on products planning and strategy. Before then, he was in academia and had a stint as a lecturer in the Federal College of Education, Katsina.
Rasheed earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Jos and thereafter bagged a Master’s degree in financial economics from the University of Abuja.
Rasheed is a fellow of Corporate Institute for Strategic Research.
He is an author and loves reading. He is the Managing Director of NatureNews and also the Program Director at Climate Africa Media Initiative and Centre
Pius O. Alabi – Director
Pius Alabi is a professional project manager, corporate strategist, and ESG analyst with fifteen years of professional experience in banking and media.
He is the Chief Growth Officer of Climate Africa Media Initiative & Centre, as well as the Chief Operating Officer of NatureNews.
Pius started his professional career in 2007 with Intercontinental Bank Plc as Customer Service Officer, then moved to Access Bank Plc as Funds Transfer Officer in 2011, also First City Monument Bank Plc as Head, Commercial Banking in 2016.
In 2019, he joined Daily Times as the Group Head of Operations and Strategy, and within a year, he was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer, after remarkable business growth achievements across many indices.
Mr. Alabi has documented evidence of excellence, commitment, and professionalism in his present and previous job functions through excellent planning and his ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and exceptional complex problems solving skills.
Among his many professional achievements is the partnership with Google Initiative for media organizations in Nigeria in 2020, and in 2015 as the team lead improved Access Bank’s operations rating by the Central Bank of Nigeria from C to A+ within three months.
He holds a graduate degree in Civil Engineering (Structures Option) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA-Finance & Investment) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Arc. Intissar Bashir Kurfi – Director
Intissar Bashir Kurfi is a passionate green architect and dedicated environmentalist, championing sustainability, circular economy, and Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on SDGs 6, 11, and 13.
She is the founder and CEO of Ifrique Eco Solutions, a pioneering sustainability start-up providing eco-friendly products and services. Her innovative flagship product, Ifrique Eco Pavers, upcycles Low Density polyethylene (LDPE) such as water sachets, plastic bottles, polythene bags, and similar waste into durable pavers. The company also constructs eco-friendly toilets from PET bottles.
A graduate of architecture from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, she is a committed member of the SDG Thursday, Nigeria’s foremost SDG youth network.
Intissar’s dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship has earned her national and international acclaim. She was recognised by the Federal Government as a Youth Innovator at the maiden National Youth Day Celebration, hosted by the President at the State House in October 2020.
Arc Intissar has featured prominent media outlets, including the BBC, and she was the maiden winner of the Hero of Environmental Actions for Development (HEAD) award in 2021. Her innovative approach and commitment to creating a greener future make her a true champion of environmental sustainability.
