The Managing Director and CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc Dupe Olusola has launched the Next Generation Foundation, a move to set to uplift underserved and vulnerable children on improved access to quality education.

The foundation aims to bridge the education gap for children in Nigeria, where millions are out of school, and to provide them with the tools needed to build a brighter future.

This was disclosed via a statement released by the foundation.

Mrs Olusola driven by her deep belief in the transformative power of education, expressed her dedication to the cause, stating, “Education changes lives, it opens doors to a future filled with opportunities, particularly for children who might otherwise be left behind. Nigeria faces one of the highest out-of-school populations globally. With the Next Generation Foundation, I hope we can make a meaningful difference in changing that.”

As part of the foundation’s vision, Mrs Olusola introduced the flagship initiative, the 50 by 50 project, to celebrate her 50th birthday.

The program, set to launch in the 2024/2025 academic year, will provide scholarships to 50 children aged 6 to 18 from low-income families.

The scholarships will cover free tuition, books, uniforms, nutrition programs, health services, and mentorship.

The first beneficiaries will come from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, and Ogun states.

Partnering with leading social impact organizations focused on education, the Next Generation Foundation seeks to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

The foundation’s long-term vision is for every child to have access to quality education and a chance at a better life.
