20 teams line up for Legacy Volleyball Championships in Lagos

Twenty teams have lined up to participate in the fifth edition of the Legacy Volleyball Championships which begin on Friday in Lagos, the organisers said on Thursday.

Chairman of Legacy Volleyball Club, Kayode Ladele, disclosed in a statement that necessary preparations and logistics had been put in place to ensure a successful championships.

“The Legacy Volleyball Championships will begin on Friday and end on Nov. 24, with the 20 participating teams participating in the competition’s male and female categories,” he said.

Ladele listed the competition’s venues as the Teslim Balogun Stadium’s Volleyball Court and the Lagos National Stadium’s Indoor Sports Hall.

He also listed the participating teams in the male category to include Legacy, Lekki, Logistic, Strike Force, all from Lagos, and Offey from Ondo state.

“Others are: Ajase-Ipo from Kwara, Komo from Ibadan in Oyo state, Olalomi from Kwara, Nile from Abuja in the FCT, Kwara United and Offa, both from Kwara.

“We also have the female teams to include Legacy, Lekki, Elite, Voltron, Logistic, Strike Force, all from Lagos, Dynamic of Abuja, Golden from Anambra and Offa from Kwara,” Ladele added.

The club chairman disclosed further that the sum of one million Naira has been earmarked for the winners in each of the competition’s two categories.

He said the first and second runners-up in the competition would go home with N500,000 and N300,000 respectively.

“Prizes are also awaiting the Best Spiker, the Most Valuable Player and Best Behaved Team in the events.”
