By Nneka Nwogwugwu

Youths in Africa have been urged to collaborate to chart a pathway for a sustainable environment on the continent.

The Ambassador of Sweden to Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and ECOWAS, H.E, Carl-Michael Grans, made this point as a guest speaker at the 2021 edition of the “Africa Green Awards”, which focused on the theme “Spotlighting The ECO-Heroes”.

According to the diplomat, the African Green Awards should serve as a springboard to inspire young people to contribute to a clean environment.

He advised the youth to constructively engage with the government, establish a connection with stakeholders, seize the opportunity, and talk and share what they are doing in promoting eco-related activities.

Grans commended the Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation for its pace-setting role in acknowledging and showcasing outstanding youths playing leading roles in advancing a green economy in Africa and across the globe.

The awards covered the following categories, which include;

Africa Green Person of the Year
Africa Green Grant Award
Green Media Award
Green Female Award
Under 40 Green Award
Inter-School Green Essay Award
Africa Green Champion
