AdunGreen Foundation, a Nigerian grassroots development organisation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian agri-tech company eKrishiKendra to promote climate-smart agriculture, digital extension services, and sustainable farming practices across Nigeria.
Announcing the agreement at a virtual signing ceremony, Dr. Yusuf Adebola, President of AdunGreen Foundation, said the partnership aims to empower farmers through technology, shared learning, and community-based innovation.
The initiative will focus on crops, livestock, aquaculture, and youth empowerment.
The collaboration will combine AdunGreen’s strong community networks and organic input systems with eKrishiKendra’s expertise in digital extension platforms, agronomic training, and data-driven soil health solutions.
Under the MoU, both organisations will jointly develop digital training modules, establish model demonstration farms, conduct bio-organic research, and build the capacity of youth and women-led cooperatives.
Highlighting the broader scope, AdunGreen’s technical partner, Mr. Tajudeen Olaribigbe, noted that livestock and aquaculture will be key areas of focus, essential for enhancing nutrition, diversifying income, and strengthening climate resilience.
He pointed to sustainable innovations such as waste-fed aquaculture and organic livestock feed as part of the solution.
Dr. Naima Shaikh, Founder of eKrishiKendra, described the partnership as a transformative step toward empowering Nigerian smallholder farmers with scalable and sustainable tools.
He said the agreement opens pathways for joint grant opportunities, stakeholder engagement, and initiatives to combat rural poverty and environmental degradation.
AdunGreen has previously launched initiatives like the “Let the Earth Breathe” campaign and its FarmAcademy program, which targets training 3 million young farmers in urban agriculture and eco-conscious practices.
Initial projects under the new partnership will begin in Kwara State at the Adun Integrated Farm Estate in Akewushola Village—a 400-hectare circular model farm integrating crops, livestock, biogas, and organic input production.
