Adamawa Govt Vows To Address Linger Water Scarcity In Yola

The state capital of Adamawa, Yola, is facing multiple water crises as the Benue and Niger rivers converge in the area. The consequences of these crises can be disastrous, requiring immediate proactive measures to address the situation.

To tackle the water scarcity issue in Yola, the Adamawa state government has made a commitment to its residents.

Alhaji Auwal Tukur, the Secretary to the State Government, emphasized this during a civic reception held in Yola to honor former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Mohammed Bello, and the Chief of Staff of the Government House, Yola, Dr Edga Amos.

Recognizing the fundamental importance of water for life, the state government has implemented proactive measures to improve water supply to the Yola metropolis.

Tukur highlighted that the Fintiri
administration prioritizes programs aimed at accelerating human and social development for the sustainable progress of the state.

Tukur extended his congratulations to the minister for his dedicated service to both the state and the country.

Additionally, Malam Ibrahim Waziri, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, praised the celebrants for their successful fulfillment of their duties.

Waziri also commended the Old Boys Association of Sanda Primary School, Yola, for organizing the event. He described the former minister as loyal, selfless, and responsible, stating that his track record serves as a commendable example for other administrators.

Expressing his gratitude, Bello thanked the Yola community for their support and prayers, which enabled him to carry out his duties effectively.

He urged public office holders to diligently adhere to the rules governing their respective positions for the development of the state.

Furthermore, it has been gathered that Nigeria has only nine percent of safe drinking water available. This highlights the need for necessary recommendations and actions to enhance the strategies and plans of the Adamawa Water Board, ultimately leading to improved service delivery.
