An industrialist and founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has donated the total sum of N2 billion to aid the victims and support recovery efforts in Maiduguri following the recent devastating flood in the state.
This comes in response to President Bola Tinubu’s call for the private sector to assist in the ongoing relief and rebuilding initiatives.
Rabiu’s donation is split into N1 billion in cash and N1 billion in essential food supplies.
The food items, including flour, pasta, sugar, and rice, will be distributed to the most affected communities, while the cash will go to the Borno State government to expedite aid delivery.

In a statement, Rabiu, the philanthropist, expressed his commitment to standing by Nigerians in times of need.
“The recent flooding in Maiduguri has caused untold hardship for thousands of families. It is my responsibility, and that of my organization, to act swiftly and meaningfully in providing relief to those affected,” he said.
The donation is part of a broader initiative by Rabiu, through the BUA Foundation and the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), to assist flood-affected regions across the country.
He also used the opportunity to call on other corporate bodies and individuals to join in supporting the recovery effort, saying, “Our thoughts are with the families and individuals who have been affected by this disaster. We urge others to help restore hope and rebuild lives.”
With the collaboration of government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders, the relief effort will continue, ensuring that the people of Maiduguri receive the necessary resources to rebuild their lives.
