Lagos Gov Kicks Off Agric Product Export to China

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated agricultural products export to China starting with 11 containers of commodities such as Sesame seeds, Cassia Tora, and Mica.
The inaugural export were shipped through the Nigerian Exporters Hub, an initiative aimed at promoting non-oil exports from Nigeria.
Speaking at the occasion on Monday in Ikeja, the state capital, Governor Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the Director of Commerce , Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative, Trade and Investment, Mrs.Titilayo deshina, emphasized the importance of value-added exports and encouraged Nigerian businesses to explore opportunities beyond raw materials.
His words: ” By processing our agricultural products loclly, wecan create more jobs, increase our export earnings, and enhance our economic competitiveness.”
The governor highlighted the economic significance of the exported commodities and their potentials to foster international trade and strenthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.
”Today’s event is proof that we can build resilient, inclusive and prosperous agricultural and solid mineral sectors that will serve as tocatalyst for national developemnt.
” In conclusion, I declare these containers officially unveiled, symbolising Nigeria’s readiness to engage with the global market. I wish Nigerian Exporters Hub continue success and look forward to witnessing more milestones in Nigeria’s export journey,” the governor said.
In his own remark at the event, the Chairman of NEXHUB, Victor Ayemere, explained that the firm was established to simply the export processw and empower Nigerians to participate in exportation, generating foreign exchange.
