The Director of Pollution Control, of the Ecological Project Office (EPO) Mr. Clinton Igwe has revealed that since 2015, the office has received presidential approval for 353 projects, with 335 completed and 18 ongoing, without any abandonment.
He disclosed in Abuja when himself and other members of the agency were welcoming the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the agency Dr. Aishatu Ndayako.
In his welcoming remarks, Mr Igwe expressed the management and staff’s readiness to support Dr. Ndayako in her new role.
He said: “We are a dedicated team of civil servants who understand our responsibilities and are eager to assist you in achieving success.
On the part Dr. Ndayako, she emphasized the need for increased collaboration among stakeholders to address the country’s ecological challenges.

During her address, Dr. Ndayako committed to aligning the office’s interventions with President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, which includes key policies aimed at resolving ecological issues.
In her words: “The EPO is strategically positioned to support the president’s vision, particularly in addressing ecological challenges.”
She further highlighted the office’s significant role in poverty reduction, noting that successful project interventions could help alleviate factors contributing to poverty in various communities.
“This office plays a crucial role in reducing poverty. Our projects are essential, and their successful implementation will demonstrate that EPO is dedicated to finding solutions that benefit the people,” Dr. Ndayako added.
She further promised open communication with staff and urged them to work diligently towards achieving the office’s goals.
“Let’s tighten our belts, work hard, and apply our knowledge and experience to resolve issues. Together, we can restore hope to this office,” she urged.
