NatureNews makes top 10 environment newspapers worldwide

Africa’s leading environment newspaper, NatureNews, has been rated as one of the top ten nature publications in the world.

The ranking, which was announced by FeedSpot on Monday, July 22, 2024, was based on critical parameters of global media performance, including relevancy, authority, social media followers, and freshness.

In a survey of 2,560 nature publications around the world, NatureNews was rated number nine, trailing behind National Geographic, BBC Science Focus, Nature Friend and Discover that were rated first, second, third, and fourth respectively.

In the category of editors, the acting editor of NatureNews, Hauwa Ali, ranked 32 out of over 1,000 editors of nature publications that were surveyed globally.

Reacting to the ranking, NatureNews’ Editors-in-Chief, Aliu Akoshile, said the global ranking is a testament of the dedication of the team in striving to deliver credible content that promotes environmental awareness in Africa.

“We are absolutely thrilled to learn that NatureNews is listed among the top 10 nature publications in the world.

NatureNews is an independent online newspaper based in Abuja, Nigeria, that focuses on environment, climate change, and sustainable earth.

It was launched on October 1, 2020, to address the lack of comprehensive environmental reportage in mainstream media and raise awareness on climate change and solutions.

The newspaper emphasizes credible news and informed commentaries to foster national advocacy for global environmental solutions.
