Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (AEEPCO), has announced resumption of production at its OML 29 facility in Nembe, Brass local government area of Bayelsa State.
The indigenous firm who are operator of the NNPC/Aiteo Joint Venture on OML 29, shut down the facility last week, after a leak that disposed volumes of crude to the water bodies in the area.
In a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend, Aiteo announced the resumption of production at the facility.
The organisation revealed that the resumption followed the completion of a joint investigative visit to the spill site by all stakeholders as required by law.
AEEPCO’s Group Managing Director, Victor Okoronkwo, in the statement, also revealed that a comprehensive assessment of its operations and assets on the oilfield had been conducted.

The statement, however, did not mention the outcome of the investigation and plans on how to remediate the impact of the spill.
