Dr Idongesit Mbaram, the Founder of Sustainable Agro and Hunger Eradication Foundation, has urged young tech farmers to embrace creativity and curiosity.

Mbaram gave the advice on the sidelines of the launch of Young Tech Farmers Club (YTFC) on Friday in Lagos.
The event was organised in collaboration with the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, with the theme: ‘Becoming a Technology Driven Farmer’.
According to her, the club was initiated to empower students with awareness, skills and agricultural inputs they would need to become future leaders in sustainable agricultural practices.
“This is a new era in agriculture driven by the power of technology.
“You must embrace curiosity, creativity and explore the world of technology with an open mind and willingness to learn.
“This is the time for you to make wise decisions as we expose you, young minds, to innovation potential against the history of agriculture.
“I urge you to collaborate, learn, share ideas and grow as a team. Keep learning and upskilling by staying updated with the latest technology trends and skills to stay ahead in the game,” she added.
She projected that Africa’s food and agricultural industry would be worth about one trillion dollars by 2030.
“It is, therefore, necessary to promote sustainable agriculture by carrying out innovative solutions, empowering communities and advocating policies that support food security and environmental stewardship,” she said.
She urged schools managements to provide necessary support and bring professionals to share real-world experiences on agriculture with students.
According to her, this will go a long way to inspire sstudents.
She gave the assurance that the foundation would remain committed to providing leadership and support for sustainable agricultural development and poverty eradication. (NAN)
