Nigeria Receives ¥15 Billion Agricultural Support from Japan

By George George Idowu

The Federal Government has secured a ¥15 billion from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency to support and boost the agricultural sector of the country.

Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, on Monday revealed this development after a Council Meeting held at the state house, Abuja.

Edun explained that the support is aimed at bolstering the nation’s National Agricultural scheme project, and it comes with some favorable terms.

According to him, the support came with a three-month assistance period, 30 years of moratorium, and a 10% interest rate.

He emphasized that this bilateral assistance from Japan will not strain Nigeria financially but instead provides crucial support to the agricultural sector.
