The BUA Foundation, a social investment arm of Nigeria’s manufacturing giant, BUA Group, has emerged winner of NatureNews’ Hero of Environmental Actions for Development (HEAD) award.
The coveted award, which is for the Climate Action category, is in recognition of BUA Foundation’s relentless commitment to net-zero carbon emission.
NatureNews says BUA Foundation will receive the HEAD Award for utilizing cleaner and energy-efficient sources for its group operations across Nigeria, in line with global ESG initiatives and sustainability practices.
The Foundation was found to have adopted advanced LNG energy sources to enhance the all-year availability of cleaner energy across its operations.
NatureNews also notes that BUA Foundation has been supporting developmental projects in the area of environmental health, social infrastructure, and sustainability, particularly in areas where its businesses are located.
According to the newspaper, BUA Foundation was adjudged best in Climate Acton due to its remarkable contributions to innovative solutions on cimate mitigation and resilience among the people.
Now in its third edition, the HEAD Award for 2023 will be presented to BUA Group at an impressive event slated for February 27 at Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
