Nasarawa State Waste Management Authority Refutes Abandonment Claims Regarding New Nyanya Dumpsite

Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority (NASWAMSA) has strongly refuted allegations of neglecting their responsibilities concerning a refuse dump located in New Nyanya, within the jurisdiction of Karu local government area in the state.

In response to these claims, the agency clarified that their actions were guided by a need to address not just the waste issue but also the poor condition of the road leading to the dumpsite.

The agency’s efforts began by addressing the extensive damage to the access road, characterized by numerous potholes.

This necessary road repair had to precede any substantial work at the dumpsite.

Unfortunately, during the subsequent commencement of work, one of NASWAMSA’s essential pieces of equipment experienced a major mechanical fault, temporarily disrupting their operations.

In an official statement released recently by NASWAMSA’s information and public relations officer, Comrade Abdulmalik Abubakar, it was highlighted that the agency and its management have earned recognition through a series of awards based on their outstanding performance in waste management and sanitation.

Abubakar reiterated the agency’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities and assured the public that they have no intention of abandoning the dump site.

Following the successful restoration of their payloader, NASWAMSA has resumed their critical work of evacuating unapproved dump sites, and they have conveyed their intent to return to the aforementioned dump site as soon as possible.

The agency remains dedicated to upholding its duty in ensuring proper waste management and sanitation within Nasarawa State.
