ERA/FoEN, GAIA takes Campaign against Plastic Pollution to Delta State

Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth Nigeria (ERA/FoEN) and the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) has taken the campaign against Plastic Pollution, Open Waste Dumping and the promotion of Zero Waste to Delta State, South-South Nigeria.
The campaign, according a statement from the ERA/FoEN, signed by its Communications Officer, Elvira Jordan, was facilitated by Community Development Advocacy Foundation (CODAF) in partnership with Green Knowledge Foundation (GKF).
Àccording to the statement, there was sensitization road show/campaign around Asaba metropolis against Open Waste dumping and it was in commemoration of the National Environmental Sanitation Day, which was marked recently.
“The event featured strategic discussion sessions on the global plastic treaty and the efforts of the Delta State Government in achieving a plastic free environment in the state.
“The team also made a presentation of GAIA Nigeria Zero Waste Guidelines Booklet to the Director of Climate Change and also to the Permanent Secretary of the Delta State Ministry of Environment”, the statement added.
