IMO Sec Gen inaugurates new NIMASA headquarters

The ultra-modern Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, headquarters on Victoria Island in Lagos, has been officially opened by Mr. Kitack Lim, Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization, IMO.
Speaking at the building’s commissioning, the head of the IMO praised the dynamic roles played by the Transportation Minister, Engr. Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, and the leaders of the various parastatals under the Transportation Ministry while also expressing confidence in Nigeria’s leadership in the transport industry.
He emphasised the value of human competency and capability in the field while also pointing out that leadership is most important, as shown by the Transportation ministry.
Speaking at the occasion, Sambo thanked the IMO writer for providing his first-hand insight into the advancements made in Nigeria’s marine industry. In addition to adopting new technology at the cutting edge of international maritime debate, he declared that Nigeria would work to guarantee that its maritime activities are in line with best practises.
Jamoh thanked the head of the IMO for his support of the marine industry in Nigeria.
He told him that NIMASA has started a number of projects in 2022 with the goal of creating a stable and favourable maritime environment in Nigeria.
