Ahead of the 2023 Budget Appropriation, the Senate has ascertained to key into environmental issues, in the area of flooding and climate change and insecurity which has been a major constraints that is affecting the country and to bring Nigeria economy into normalcy.
The Senate President, Ahmed Lawn, made an assertion on Friday in Abuja at the oversight function of the National Assembly complex on the completion of the temporary Chamber for the plenary.
The Senate President stated that the parliament is waiting to receive Mr. President for the presentation of the 2023 appropriation of budget estimates and, “we are excited that the President will be doing that in the first week of October.”
Lawan said the Senate will be carrying out activities at the temporary chamber throughout this year.
He said, “I’m aware that the Senate will be conducting their plenary section here, and by the grace of God there will be no issue.
“The way this place is renovated to accommodate the single senators is what matters to us, Ours is to remain focused on our job and tasks, providing that this environment is going on smoothly.

“The security of our country, the security of our people, has always been of great concern to us and will remain so.
“I want to assure Nigerians that the National Assembly, particularly the Senate, will continue to support our security agencies and defence forces to fight for restoration of normalcy in our skilled situation in the country.
“Our economy is challenged. It is our focus that we make sure that the economy works for all Nigerians regardless of socio economic status when the budget will be passed, we are optimistic that we will be able to pass a budget that will provide for a better life for Nigerians.
Also, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa representing Niger East senatorial district, said since the National Assembly was Unbuilt, it has never been rehabilitated, while refurbishing it is to bring back standards like any other fundamental parliament around the world.
Sen. Musa who is Chairman Senate committee on House Services, however commended the F.C.T who has been in charge with the renovation of Complex and the need to fast track their efforts to the completion of the projects.
He added by applauding the Ninth Assembly for their contributions in maintenance the senate complex.
