NatureNews, ClimateAfrica to amplify creative solutions for habitable environment – Publisher

Publisher and Editor-in-chief of NatureNews Africa and ClimateAfrica, Aliu Akoshile, has stated that both the newspaper and magazine will be deployed to reporting the environment and to amplify creative solutions for making the environment habitable for human beings, animals and plants.
Akoshile said this on Tuesday in Abuja while marking NatureNews first anniversary and the launch of ClimateAfrica magazine.
Akoshile said the idea and vision for “NatureNews” is to bring a better solution to the critical challenge of development journalism in Nigeria, and Africa and to be the most authoritative news platform on environment issues in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.
His words, “As it is now widely acknowledged, Climate Change is today the most topical issue globally, not that it is a new phenomenon but because climate impact now poses grave danger to humanity in all ramifications of existence.”

While unveiling the new Magazine, ClimateAfrica, the Publisher said, “We thought of the need to deepen the tone of conversation about climate change in Africa so as to drive home the necessity of finance, mitigation and adaption for the continent as enunciated in the 2015 Paris Agreement.”
As part of the legacies of his 34 years sojourn in the media, Akoshile said “Both the newspaper and magazine will be deployed to reporting the environment and to amplify creative solutions for making the environment habitable for human beings, animals and plants. As we are driven by a deep passion for social investment in sustainability initiatives.”
Speaking further, Akoshile said “We have already developed a creative plan that will enable our country to achieve the goal of Open Defecation Free (ODF) environment by the year 2025.”
Akoshile who previously managed the entire revenue business of Daily Trust newspaper said, NatureNews will partner all stakeholders that are involved with global actions towards nurturing a living environment.
Another major highlight of the event was the conferment of the Hero of Environment Actions for Development (HEAD) Awards to 2 worthy environmentalists, Favour Oluma and Intisar Bashir Kurfi.
