The Ondo State capital old garage has been shutdown. There was pandemonium on Tuesday in Akure, the Ondo State capital following a clash among members of the National Road Transport Workers in the state.

Some members of the union allegedly loyal to the NURTW Chairman, Jacob Adebo popularly known as Idajo were said to have attacked a rival group.

During the fracas which rocked old garage and other motor parks in the state, a member of the rival group identified as Shina Ademola Ademoyegun was killed after he was shot, while one Adeyemi Samuel Ojuyobo and Akinyemi Bayo sustained injuries.

Prior to the Tuesday crisis, the warring groups were reportedly summoned by the National Chairman of the union, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa and the Zonal Chairman, Olamilekan Salami to Osogbo, Osun State on Monday to broker peace between the two rivalry groups.

At the meeting which ended in a deadlock, Idajo was said to have been instructed to put the Ondo Chapter of the Union in order and allow the rival group to resume operation at the garage.

According to the rival group, they were attacked upon resumption at the garage on Tuesday morning.

The group had marched to the palace of Deji of Akure to express their grievances.
