The terrible floods affecting Pakistan prompted Chinese President Xi Jinping to send a letter of sympathy to his Pakistani counterpart, Arif Alvi, on Monday.
The Chinese president mentioned that Pakistan recently experienced catastrophic flooding that resulted in numerous fatalities and significant property losses.
Xi sent his deepest sympathies to the deceased families, the injured, and the residents of the afflicted areas on behalf of the Chinese government and people as well as in his own name.
According to Xi, China and Pakistan have traditionally been allies who have reached out to one another and worked together to address significant problems like natural catastrophes.
He claimed that following the floods, China responded right away and will continue to give Pakistan the desperately needed aid and support it needs to deal with the calamity.
Xi also expressed his conviction that residents living in the disaster-affected areas will undoubtedly survive the flood and begin to restore their houses as soon as possible with the help of the Pakistani government and people.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif a sympathy message on the same day.
