Tinubu establishes federal university in Ogoni

By Faridat Salifu

President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State, as a significant step toward addressing historical imbalances in educational infrastructure.

This move, announced by Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, on his official X page on Monday, February 3, underscores the administration’s commitment to promoting inclusive development across the country.

The university is a key part of Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, which prioritizes equal access to quality education in regions that have long been underserved.

The creation of this institution also aligns with the President’s broader vision of unity, emphasizing that no ethnic or regional group is left behind in Nigeria’s development.

Earlier, a similar initiative was launched with the establishment of a federal university in Southern Kaduna, which further solidifies the administration’s dedication to fostering growth across diverse parts of the country.

Bwala reiterated Tinubu’s belief in a united Nigeria, underscoring that, for the president, the country’s diversity is a strength rather than a division. His policy seeks to bridge gaps and promote collective progress, reflecting the unity embedded in the national anthem’s call for brotherhood across different tribes and tongues.
